Transposition of the INSPIRE Directive in the Legislation of the Republic of Slovenia

Irena AŽMAN, Tomaž PETEK, Surveying and Mapping Authority of the Republic of Slovenia

Slovenia has started fulfilling requirements of the INSPIRE directive. The directive was transposed into Slovenian legislation; spatial data sets were prepared and an information system for metadata was established. Data access is provided by numerous services, which have not yet been harmonized with the INSPIRE requirements.

The presentation will describe the national infrastructure for spatial information in Slovenia and a detailed description of activities in this area in the last year. The Spatial Data Infrastructure Act will be presented, as well as its preparation and especially the content of the law. The role of the Surveying and Mapping Authority of the Republic of Slovenia and other stakeholders in the field of implementing INSPIRE and creation of NSDI will also be described.
