Map production makes use of crosslinked spatial data infrastructures and -sensors more and more. These Service-Oriented Architectures (SOA) call for new modes of thought, which influence all areas of map production, e.g. geospatial recording, map design, map compilation, geodata providing, cooperations, printing, publishing, libraries and archives. This symposium offers a framework to present, exchange and discuss essential developments, perspectives and actual best-practices of service-oriented map production.
