The tourist bus leaves in front of the Milenij Grand Hotel 4 opatijska cvijeta in Opatija at 10:00. It is going to go to Rijeka and in the direction of the Krk Bridge. We are going on the Island of Krk and first of all we will visit the Biserujka Cave, which is located in the north-eastern part of Krk, at the boundary between Omišalj and Dobrinj, above the Slivanjska Bay, near the Village of Rudine. The cave has been known for over 100 years, when its interior (with a pit-shaped entrance!) aroused interest for unknown secrets and beauties of its calcite decorations. There used to be a story that the cave holds hidden smuggler’s treasure. Interested visitors entered the cave and its passages were gradually regulated. There has been an increased interest in the rich subterranean gallery of stalactites, stalagmites and calcite pillars ever since the cave was illuminated. After seeing the cave, the bus is going to continue to the Town of Punat. We are going to cross the parallel which passes 45o of northern latitude! We are going to board a ship and go to the islet of Košljun (area 6.5 ha) – a forest reserve and a cultural monument. Afterwards, we are going to be escorted by an abbot to see the Franciscan monastery. The monastery and the Church of the Annunciation from 1480 are home to a valuable library, an ethnographic museum and a permanent exhibition of sacral art. One can find there an extremely rare copy of Ptolemy’s Atlas published in Venice in 1511.

Subsequently, we are going to return to Punat and continue to Vrbnik, an old town described in songs and painted in pictures of numerous artists. Vrbnik was developed in a location of prehistorical settlements, on a steep cliff 50 m above the sea. It was first mentioned in 1100 and blossomed during the reign of the Frangipani family (1388), when it received a statute written in Glagolitic alphabet. Its rich and turbulent past reflects in many cultural and historical monuments.

Upon arriving in Vrbnik, we are going to taste wines, prosciutto and cheese in the cellar of the Vrbnik Agricultural Society. We are also going to take a walk through Vrbnik and see the old town centre, which is fascinating to each visitor. After the sightseeing, we are going to have delicious lunch in the tavern "Luce". The return to Opatija is expected in the evening.

The 40 € per person price includes:
